Avoiding Procrastination
Procrastination (pro-kras-tin-a-shun) is putting off important things instead of doing them right away. Here are some ways to avoid procrastination. Remember, don't just read them, do them!

Use Positive Thinking. Say to yourself, "the sooner I get done, the sooner I can play!"

Be Confident. Jumping to the conclusion that you will fail creates fear that will stop you cold. Focus on the positive steps you can take toward reaching your goals.

Design Clear Goals. Be specific and reasonable.

Set Priorities. List the things that you need to do in order of their importance. Start at the top of the list and work down.

Break Big Tasks into Parts. Having goals that are too big can scare you away from starting. Break them down into small parts. You'll get more done if you can do it piece by piece.

Get Organized. Have all your materials ready before you begin a task.

Take a Stand. Commit yourself to doing the task.

Reward Yourself. Let yourself enjoy the completion of even the smallest of tasks. You're that much closer to finishing.

ATA Family Picnic
The family picnic was great! Everyone had a good time, and you couldn't beat the food. What a chef! (See the website for more picnic pics.)

Did You Know?
If a bathtub could hold all the water on earth, a half-gallon container would hold all of the fresh water - the rest would be seawater.

The Gulf Stream moves 70,000,000 tons of water per second - one thousand times the discharge of the Mississippi River.

Open ocean water freezes at minus 1.9° C - almost 2 degrees below the freezing point of fresh water.

Drop a Line
Did you know Ms. Kight moved from Massachusetts to North Carolina? Drop her a line and let her know how much we miss her.
