Ten More Tips for Success This School Year (continued)
  • 11-Don't be afraid to ask questions. That is how we learn.
  • 12-If you avoid stress, you will do better in school.
  • 13-Start reviewing notes at least three days before a test. Don't wait until the night before the test to study for it.
  • 14-Write down your assignments carefully. Have the phone number of a few classmates in case you forget.
  • 15-Parents, be a role model to your children. Your children learn from you. Be positive and supportive of the school system and teachers.
  • 16-Read often and regularly.
  • 17-Put all of your things in your room right when you get home. This way you will know where everything is and it won't take you all morning to find your things.
  • 18-Take good notes. You know that something is important if the teacher repeats it, tells you to write it down, says it will be on a test, or writes it on the board.
  • 19-Don't cheat and don't be lazy. Do your projects and assignments ahead of time. Study and learn. You will be proud of yourself.
  • 20-During tests, read and follow all of the directions. Read the questions carefully and double check your answers if you have time.

Ten Signs of a Middle-Aged Martial Artist
  • 10-You enjoy the flavor of Advil and Aleve.
  • 9-You kihap carefully so your dentures don't fly out and hit the person in front of you.
  • 8-While you listen to other people at work lie about their golf game, you run through your forms in your head.
  • 7-When you sweat, your hair literally can't get in your eyes.
  • 6-You've asked Mr. Nelson if the ATA has a walker form.
  • 5-You have a forklift at home so you can get out of your easy chair for the days that follow a Wednesday class.
  • 4-Orthopedic surgeons pay you a finder's fee.
  • 3-You tie your bathrobe in a square knot -- and check to make sure the ends are even.
  • 2-You've discovered that sweat is the fountain of youth.
  • And the Number 1 sign that you are a middle-aged martial artist is:

Your family nickname is Rice Crispy because when you get out of bed, you snap, crackle and pop!

One More Joke
  • Q: What did the Zen master say to the hot dog vendor?
  • A: Make me one with everything!
